| Miracle of Life © Copyright George Papavgeris, May 2006 There is more than colour in a painting There is more than music in a song There is more than marble in a statue There is more than strength in being strong There is more to man than work and pleasure There is more than woman in a wife In a child much more than you can measure Celebrate the miracle of life And a river's more than rushing water Home is more than simply where we dwell And a mountain's more than rocks and boulders Someone's story more than words can tell All these things are there for us to wonder If we take our mind from daily strife For a while put other thoughts asunder Celebrate the miracle of life This old world is more than flesh and metal More than ears can hear and eyes can see Precious like a diamond every petal And it is all given us for free. There are threads that join us all together And if you can cut some with a knife There are others that you cannot sever Celebrate the miracle of life It's a gift that we can only borrow And we pass it on when we are done What has been will also be tomorrow Even when the last of us has gone For though history can be forsaken And no music made with broken fife Still this moment now can not be taken Celebrate the miracle of life |
