So someone else has lost the money that I made Somebody bet and lost the farm I followed rules, though, and it was the fairest trade It's just supply and demand - and please don't, Don't try to teach me about ethics and the rest If you are weak don't join the fray I can't afford over some loser to get stressed Today it was my turn Tomorrow is another day What did you do today? - I walked the Gaza strip Somebody shot at us, we aimed and let it rip No time to make out he was only just a kid A second's longer than a year It's an explosives dump with Semtex for a lid Sometimes we shoot to hide our fear - and there's no, No time for reason or for judging right and wrong You're either hunter or the prey To make it through you sell your conscience for a song Today it was his turn Tomorrow is another day. What did you do today? - I drilled another well It was a deep one, we tapped straight into hell Whoever could have thought the earth so much would bleed It took us hours to calm it down To try and cap it was a bastard job indeed I'm ready now to hit the town - and I know, Some people moan about resources and such stuff And watch the climate with dismay But I've a job to do, and that for me 's enough Today I earned my pay Tomorrow is another day What did you do today? - I walked the kids to school Back home, I'm freezing, the wind is something cruel No central heating for I try to save the cash - Kids they cost so much these days I want the best for them, make sure they're up to scratch To make their way out of this maze - and they will, And they will prosper, be respectable and kind Their world much better than today For them no storms or war, for them no daily grind Today I've done my best Tomorrow is another day |
